Heck, at the dragstrip I even lost an RPI rock guard that was clipped into the metal, can't imagine how well a wobbly fender liner plus some double sided tape can reliably hold a front rock guard. I must be missing something.

I’m not taking sides here, but what I can say for sure is that the ACS rock guards aren’t going anywhere. The 3 very large rivets and double sided tape make the fronts solid as a rock. Seriously, the rivets pull the liner and the rock guard together in such a way that the assembly is very rigid. The double sided tape is no joke, it’s very strong. The price, that’s the weak part.
As far as how well they protect the car… better than nothing, but surely not the best option. Eh, they look good…
