I am not sure I would refer to that as a "cheap out" spec.
The ZL1 hood scoops are both carbon fiber. The $600 add-on option is exposed and the included is painted Mosaic Black like all the trim pieces. Purchasing it after the fact is like triple the cost. Not worth it. Also, IMO in only looks good on certain color cars since all the other trim is painted black the carbon hood scoop doesn't match as well. I think it looks cool close up but when I stand back from the car it just looks gray.
Red seats belts, some like them some can't stand them.
Red knee pads, keep in mind the OEM GM pads are faux leather, not suede like you have now. You can find some 3rd party vendors that will custom make them in red suede if you desire.
