I can understand and agree with those that prefer the Nitto for those reasons over the MT, however since trying both tires and in my personal experience, the MT SS tire prevails over the Nittos for pure traction. I believe many would agree with my assessment both online and in person that they would chose an MT tire over the Nitto if they are looking for the better hooking tire.

I have seen people recommend the MT SS over the original Nitto 555R. The 555R2 is just so much better balanced, it has the grip for drag racing as well as cornering. I've heard some folks complain about the MT SS being floaty at high speeds too.
