So Im still trying to solve the mystery of my ZL1, and how it came to be. I found a "left over" brand new Shock 21 ZL1 at the beginning of April 22. The 21's were long since gone and I was searching for a ZL1. When I pulled up the inventory, I mistakenly hit 2021 instead of 2022, and this ONE CAR came up. It was local-ish. 400 miles away from me. And It was exactly what I wanted. 21 Shock a10 ZL1. With moonroof. It was like too good to be true. I figured it was a demo or the dealer wanted an astronomical ADM as the reason it was not sold last year when you could still get a 2021.

Well I called and it was still new, only 187 miles on the odo and it was at sticker. I put down the money and went and got it.

Once I got to the dealer, they told me GM corporate gave them the car to be sold as new. And it was a PEP/display car?? They assume it made the autoshow rounds and a few parades. And on top of that, it was supposed to have like 6k miles but when it was delivered COVID had just shut down the world, so it was likely only used for a few weeks. Then it was in storage in Michigan at some lot where GM stores all their press cars.

The car looked pretty flawless and only had 187 miles, so I took it even with the story. I have inquired within GM and they will not give me any info for what it was used for. The dealer/service department said its in service was back in January of 21, but there was ZERO service history.

Long story short, it came with a 75k GM bumper to bumper warranty. I have put 2600 miles on it. And aside from the stupid rearview camera not working, its been a flawless car. Nothing out of the ordinary. All I know is I had the chance to get what was likely the LAST shock ZL1 or 21 camaro for that matter to be sold new. And check out the dealer delivered to on the window sticker. I bet your sticker doesnt have that... How cool is that?
