It seems to me there is logic in there is an inherit disadvantage the ZLE has due to lack of weight transfer. I don't bite on aero because I don't think these cars are going fast enough that ZLE has a disadvantage necessarily. It might have a slight advantage in acceleration due to lighter wheels, but they aren't too much lighter. Programming is supposedly different, and the only other A10-difference is a lower-capacity pan.
Stock for stock - I would bet a ZL1 might edge-out a ZLE, but I think we're talking hundreds, if anything, and I don't think that's anything that's exciting at all. It would be interesting to see though. I'm not sure to "scientific" anyone could make this hypothetical test though. There are too many variabilities.
