Being new to the Chevrolet ordering process, I wasn't fully aware of how to ask about allocations. My first question to the dealer when I sat down was if they had any allocations available. The answer was yes, obviously. Now I know the correct question was "how many allocations does this dealership get for the MODEL/TRIM of interest for this month/year, how many have been used up, and where would I be in the list?"
I placed an order on 5/3 for an LT1 then changed the order to a 1SS on 5/13. The trim level change resulted in a Order # change. I do have the Workbench paperwork and have checked with Chevrolet chat to confirm 1100 Status.
Yesterday I asked the latter questions and I got the following response: "From what I'm seeing on allocations on Camaro coupe for 2023 we have a total of 7. There is one order in front of yours right now. When those orders will be picked up I do not have a definite answer. I did check for allocations for TPW 06/13/2022 - 06/19/2022 and see that we have requested 4 that have not been confirmed yet. Factory constraints do change weekly so it's hard for us to give an exact accurate build time frame until the system picks up the order and publishes the TPW. "
I chose this dealer because they have good staff, are helpful, local, and the inner workings aren't corrupt/negative (from inside sources). I did give them a $1k down payment to order (which I was fine with since they were the only dealer I went to).
