Yeah, I thought the Z28 looked pretty cool but it was based on the aging 5th gen platform so no matter how much you try to strip it down it was still too heavy. 3820lbs without air conditioning, 505hp/481tq vs. ZL1 1LE with AC and supercharged LT4 is 3820lbs as well. 650hp/650tq.
It would have been cool if the ZL1 1LE was the 6th GEN Z28 instead. Maybe even go a bit further with it to reduce weight. Strip the AC, rear seats, lighter wheels, carbon ceramic brake option, etc.
