It's not a 1le it's not a ZL1 and I will not be taking it to the track. I am someone who likes to drive hard and fast though.
I have been reading these forums for the past 10 months while waiting for my Camaro to be built and delivered. Everything I've read indicates doing the oil change at the first 500 miles. I took it to a Chevy dealership this morning to get it done since I have the freebie. They refused to do the change stating there is nowhere in the manual that says it has to be done and that GM would not reemburse them. So,... Im interested in what you all think. Change or not?

I will never track mine and I follow the break-in from the High Performance Supplement (that's where the 500/1500 oil changes come from along with 1500 diff fluid).
The question is: why WOULDN'T you do this? The oil contains no special break-in additives from the factory, so it doesn't need to remain in the engine for a minimum amount of time.
