There is how ever some positive speculation that a farewell edition might have the same lt4 from the Cadillac (since they are built on same line) that produces 668 HP. But I seriously doubt they will put the lt2 anyway regardless with everyone of those engines needed to just keep up with the 2 years of back orders on C8s
Heck, they don't even have to change the hardware, a tune alone would gain 10-20 extra horsepower. A little extra timing here, a bit of torque management removed there and boom, you have just made 670 hp.

The scarce few who'll buy that farewell edition are most likely collectors, so gm wouldn't be taking much of a risk with the powertrain warranty.
