That Corvette doesn't look too bad IMO. Hell, I think it looks ok even in the Rapid Blue, and I don't really care for how it looks on the Camaro. But, I will concede that some colors are beyond saving. The Jungle Green Metallic on the SS Sedan looked pretty bad IMO. Although, people that bought one really took to it. Funny thing is that I can see one of your types of cars (the Challenger) being able to pull this color off. I think if something is aggressively enough styled, it can pull off most colors. The SS Sedan was just a little too pedestrian to pull off this color.
