I have to agree with this right here.
Even if we are tracking it, the non 1LE is quite capable and could probably run at lap record pace at most tracks in the right hands with race tires and basic setup. As much as I would love to think that the 1LE is making me a better track rider I have to admit that at my pace it really isn't.
I got it purely for looks. Having the up-spec suspension, wider wheels, aero bits is just a bonus that makes for a good convo at the cars and coffee meet. All it takes is for a race school instructor to take a beat up 20 year old 3 series and dish out some work before people realize that it's mostly the driver.
