There is a lot of disinformation on this topic.
The problem with the original fluid is that it was hygroscopic, meaning it attracted water. This caused uneven engagement of clutch surfaces, with adequately lubricated areas right next to essentially unlubricated areas.
You end up with two faces of sandpaper rather than two smooth surfaces. All the new fluid in the world isn't going to fix that.
