I want to be able to safely commute in the rain and not spin in 2nd gear when dry (6mt) and not feel the ass float at high speeds if that's possible? Thanks in advance for any input!
The topic of ZL1 tires has been discussed endlessly here.

I'll assume you refer to the current Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R as "OEM." This tire is excellent on hot/dry road courses and streets, but horrendous as an everyday street tire particularly in the wet.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S has been arguably the best all-around street tire for 5 or 6 years. It's great on dry and wet streets, but can't or shouldn't be driven below 40F, so it can't be a daily driver tire for you if you commute in Ohio. In addition, it's not designed for either the road course or drag strip.

Depending on your car and driving habits, there are a few other tires like the Nitto DRs that might work for you.

No tire is best for every occasion.
