Tire Trailer MODS almost finished

My Weekend Project

Most recently I bought a tire trailer from another track rat. When he bought it it was a northern tool 5 x 8 utility trailer but he modifed the WIDTH of it and made it about 8 inches narrower. He also double channeled some of the bracing and added some diamond plating. You will notice he installed a HUGE ICE chest and a NICE tool chest towards the FRONT of the trailer. He had two fuel bucket containers as well. Spare tire holder was added to the front of the tool box that opens up towards the BACK of the trailer. Trailer weigha ABOUT 280 pounds now. My LOADED weight will be about 800 pounds.

My first mod was to add some D-Track plates with some GRADE 8 bolts so that I could run E-TRACK retaining straps. If you look closely at the BACK view picture of the trailer you can see the BLACK e-track brackets below each of the tires in the REAR of the trailer. There is also a set of e-track brackets in FRONT of each tire.

Needing FOUR JUG holders instead of just TWO, I decked out the area on the FRONT side of the trailer. The FRONT view pic simply shows TWO fuel jugs just sitting there loose but I have a TWO bucket VP racing fuel jug holder coming MONDAY that these two fuel jugs will actually sit in.

This trailer DID NOT come with a tongue jack so that was added as well. Since the trailer was too narrow to hold FOUR of my 12 inch wide wheel/tire
combo, I installed two sets of eyelets in the cargo area of the trailer and that is the home for the 4th tire/wheel.

Only other mod I am considering is to swap out to a larger diameter trailer wheels. These are 12 inch and I am looking at 14-15 inch possibly.
