Kind of a similar experience. There's really a national market for Camaro; even more so with higher-performance models. You need to be flexible and move quickly. Chevy's website was really very helpful, and tells you if the car is "in transit". Found a car that worked at a dealership near New Orleans that had been just delivered. Three miles on the odo, and I offered MSRP. Dealer came back with a counter of MSRP + $10K. Of course I declined, and said Camaro is in pretty good supply nationwide. Dealer salesperson called me back in 5 minutes - no surprise - and agreed to MSRP, so we were done. I did fly up to inspect the car before closing, and had it shipped home.
