Same with the Camaro. the manual ss was and seemed way faster and more involved. The zl1 seems more refined and smoother and perhaps that is the issue? but trust me the zl1 isnt slow LOL
That (in bold above) is why I sold my ZL1 tbh; it just didn't feel that fast or exciting to me. I found myself never driving my new car I was paying $900 a month for, so it had to go unfortunately..

I also owned a 16' SS in the past and the ZL1 didn't feel much faster.
I really wanted to love it, as I greatly enjoyed the SS, so on paper the ZL1 should have been about perfect.

With all that said, I am starting to think mine may have the issue stated in this thread (https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=559582), because it felt held back like it wasn't making full boost (almost like running the black in the Hellcat)
I wasn't aware of that potential issue at the time however...
It was also in the middle of the Summer at the time so maybe heat soak too contributing.
The speedo was moving pretty fast at WOT though so I don't know.
