Truss Me; GM is not about to throw away their excellent IC engines that power Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade. These four vehicles are currently floating the company. GM would surely sink without them. To be a little honest with you, GM has been studying electric vehicles for awhile, but they were late to the game in introducing them to the market. GM will face (very) stiff competition to the well known players manufacturing ev's at the moment.

I also feel that a large section of the market will simply reject the technology and continue to buy Civics, Accords and Camrys and anything else that uses IC engines. Its sad, but I am one of those on the verge of defecting. If it were not for GM's trucks (admittingly also Camaro) I would have defected a lot earlier.

Count your figures correctly GM; This is a risky gamble with the ev's.
