Are you sure it was installed backwards? The lt seals are installed differently than the ls and many make that mistake. Not that I’m questioning your mechanic but you may want to double check because I’ve never heard of that kind of factory mistake. The lt seals can hold up quite well and on the several 1000+ horsepower cars I’ve built for people I’ve never had an issue with one. Many of the large shops will say the same. Again, not that it’s impossible to fail but timing tables and a/f not properly set in a tune can lead to failures like you’ve mentioned. Just keep a close eye and maybe double check some things.
