Side note - shorter trips on cold oil probably contributes to oil pump failure in these cars. Its just a hypothesis but I bet the evidence would back it up. I baby my car until the oil is fully warmed up, which takes longer than the coolant

Yea doubt that mine failed in the middle of a Texas summer where it was still 80° at night. I'm leaning more towards improper material treatment kind of like the valve spring issue that popped up on the 2019.
