Stephen, that was on the table. After going through several days of back and forth with a guy on the LA craigslist and determining it to be a scam it threw cold water on the idea as well as the few other we found were $15k which is similar pricing to rebuilding the existing engine.
Mods are 9.17 lower, kooks, ported tb, rotofab, ethanol, tune.
I think we will be meeting with a new shop of my sons choice to discuss tear down, new rods, Pistons, cam and port the existing blower as option 1 (750 whp) and then option 2, Maggie 2650r, high side fuel pump, etc for 850-900 whp build. I think we are both concerned what this option does to driveability.
Option 2 would be my sons choice and he'd pony up the additional $. We've got a family situation that may require all of us to help financially and may dictate timing as well as which option we do. Thanks!
