If the ZL1 was $20k more than my 2SS but offered 750HP (vs 455HP) I probably would have went for it... (Even though I certainly don't need the power) but I would have felt a LOT better paying $20k for an extra 300HP... (And I really like the look of the ZL1)... It's great to see what the aftermarket can do (albeit voiding the powertrain warranty), it is a damn shame GM isn't offering this out the door... It would sell... I mean an 807HP Challenger Demon Hellcat or an 800HP 6th Gen ZL1??? No competition there... A big heavy boat with a big motor or a fighter jet with the same big motor...
The platform is already traction limited at stock LT4 power levels. On the C7 ZR1 GM claims "they reached the limit of the front engine design architecture" Also the ZL1 1LE 'Ring time is already blisteringly fast..my thoughts. The Z06 couldn't be outclassed either... note the CT5-V BW is 668 HP...670 for the C8 Z06...
