Boy - that V6 thing just wont go away or budge. I had heard a rumor that the V6 may not be available until next year or possibly at all. "At all" is probably extreme but anyone like me that originally ordered a V6(which I did back in early August but have since cancelled) or was thinking of a V6 had better talk themselves into a different engine option. It aint looking pretty. Not in the least bit. Bummer, dudes.
BTW - another little tidbit that could/may effect orders: I have now spoken to two local/semi-local dealers about ordering a car that have actually been very honest and frank with me that they only get so many allocations(if any) and they try to use them on specific cars which they eluded to meant V8, SS, etc, etc. When I had brought up my desire to possibly order a 1LT or 2LT 6 speed car with the 2.0 turbo, they did say they'd have to see about that or at least said the time frame for such a thing is very much up in the air. So, this is anecdotal evidence for sure but these recent experiences sort of prove out my theory that your chances of an allocation being "used up" on a high end car are MUCH higher than a lower end one. Maybe that should be entirely obvious and pardon my ignorance if so. Just wanted to share that as it was my experience. I understand this site is heavily into the SS and V8 trims. Thats cool. No problem.
