Ii had a Gen 5 2SS and a Gen 6 2SS and the Gen 6 is MUCH quieter. You'll find the stock tires on your2SS are quiet on good/new asphalt. That narrows it down to loud roads or wind noise from a window or something. For the 'vert, id highly recommend the windscreen for when the top is down. Cuts down on wind noise and makes it easy to talk, also keeps the heat or AC in the front seat. If a call comes through with the top down, just put the windows up and you'll be able to talk.
