This doesn't sound right to me. You have a 2017 and after a few years you get a hairline crack? I don't buy it.
I think the tire shop dropped your rim or damaged it in the mounting process. I doubt you would ever get them to admit that. But I would go to a different shop and ask their opinion when they remove the tire from the old rim.
