Well doing the Math, my ET27 18 x 11 EC7 wheels with a 5MM spacer basically is the same as a wheel with ET22 offset and that clears fine once you grind the front strut bracket.

SO in MY case I could run the SM-10 19 x 11 wheel with the ET35 offset wheel with a 13MM spacer which also is the same as ET22 offset. This then would be a spacer a little over HALF an inch.

I have an SG3 suspension upgrade though and therefore DO NOT have MRC and those MRC struts give you a little LESS room to the inside of the wheel.

With my 5MM spacer, I DO NOT have to run extended studs because I use an extended lugnut that has threads that start INSIDE the lugnut hole of the wheel. With this I can get about 12-13 thread engagement on the STOCK stud. A good rule of thumb is you want at LEAST 10 thread engagement. WITHOUT the extended lugnut and using a 5MM spacer, you can only get 6-7 thread engagement on the stock wheel stud. HENCE the reason for using the extended threaded lugnut.

Again the main issue to me is running the car with tire poke at the TOP of the wheel well regardless of the size of the spacer. It is NEVER a good idea especially on the street. Potentially the top of the tire could come in contact with the body and especially at high speed that would NOT be good.. I know for instance on a section of the track that I road race alot on, I will go airborne on the RIGHT front tire going over a transition section in the track and if I had tire poke, the tire would no doubt compress enough to make contact with the top of the wheel well. At that SPECIFIC point I am probably going over 100MPH.
