Road Course Setup
Guys the pics below are the alignment specs that we did TODAY at a company called DOGHOUSE Performance whose shop has been known to set up some VERY FAST road course cars and in particular some VERY fast Camaros.
I also have included some pics of some STRAP POINT brackets (ZL1ADDONS) that we installed as well. Adam Pollard the owner is a road racer himself and has won national championships in the MIATA classes and his latest project is an LS3 based BMW road race car.
Anyhow, Adam emphasized to me that the biggest reason for tire wear is too much tow out and he also believes in running a setup that can be used BOTH on the street and the track.
Wanting MORE rear negative camber we installed SPL Toe Arms because the stock toe arm allows for no more than about -2.0 degrees camber. Now we have set the REAR up to -2.4 degrees camber and small amount of TOE IN.
On the FRONT, I WAS running about -2.2 to -2.4 degrees camber on my street settings and -3.6 degrees camber on my track settings (VORSHLAG camber plates). I am NOW going to try -3.1 degrees camber for BOTH street and track with a smaller amount of TOE IN as well .
The following I have found to be extremely beneficial in setting up this car for road racing:
ZL1 Brakes with DTC70 front pads and DTC60 Rear Pads with GOODRIDGE Stainless Steel Brake lines and Wilwood EXP 600 Plus brake Fluid
Pirelli Road Racing Slicks 305 660 18 on APEX EC-7 ET27 18 x 11 wheels at 30PSI cold (trying MICHELIN 30 65 18 slicks 25PSI cold on Sunday)
Vorshlag Camber Plates and rear SPL TOE Arms
SG3 Suspension with 1LE sway bars
For Rain setup: MS 4S 305 30 19 tires on APEX SM-10 ET25 19x10.5 wheels
Thats all I got for now. LOL
