Someone informed me the "unknown" piece was actually an ambient temp sensor.
Update:
I replaced the MAP sensor but the codes were still there. The old one looked 100% fine visually. However, I found the cause.
Some "Mechanics" from youtube cautioned replacing the map sensor w/out inspecting everything else first including the wiring as the sensor can last the life of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I didn't do this so that was my naïvety.
Earlier, I noticed there was a hole in the padding and I figured the squirrel at my home got under the car and chewed it for a nest.
Well, you guess it. The squirrel chewed the wiring.
I can fix the wiring correctly and safely, not just "eh, tape it" method.
Hopefully nothing gets shorted until this is resolved but I'll update everyone to let you guys know what happened.
