And it's likely to be more than just NY state - 12 states are pushing for this to be a federal mandate for 2035 onward.
We have to face facts, the ICE is on its last legs and it's been in the cards for a long time. My main concern is that battery technology is not where it would be if "big oil money" hadn't been allowed to suppress research into alternate energy for decades. Things like solar, fuel cells, etc should be much further along than it is at this point, and 14 years isn't going to be enough time to catch up.

So, I live "elsewhere" and buy a 2036 ICE vehicle. When I move to NY they refuse to transfer the reg? Or, is it ok because it was originally registered somewhere else? If the latter, then I'll just register it brand new in ME for six months then transfer it to NY. Or, just leave it registered in ME.
