We can't determine your risk tolerance, but I would do it personally. I also like the idea of having new tires shipped to the dealer. You're gonna swap out the SC3Rs for PS4Ss anyway. Might be able to get the dealer to mount & balance for free. 3 tires will fit in the back seat and one in the trunk. Put down one of those harbor freight moving blankets over the back seat.

I was caught in a pretty bad downpour in my SS. Got stuck behind an 18 wheeler. Between the back spray & the rutted highway there was no way I’d pass. I had back down to like 50 on a 70mph highway.
A light rain is one thing. An all out torrential rain, where you have an inch of or more of standing water, is a TOTALLY different scenario.
If I encounter that in my ZL1 I’m finding the closest off ramp & waiting for it to pass if at all possible.
I will say the PS4’s are very good in wet.
