Same experience here with my LT1.
I never did a burnout in the car; rarely launched the car from a stop.
I will say that while I didn't beat on the car; I did love going around corners quick.
My rears lasted about 12,000 miles without rotating. Issue was, I didn't think they would need rotated that soon, so I didn't plan to rotate until 15,000 miles.
I traded the car into the dealership since my 1LE arrived. The dealership added new rear tires before they listed it for sale.
With a good rotation schedule, I would think that 20,000 isn't out of the question, but still very disappointing.
