I powder coated mine matte bronze and ceramic coated that. They have a satin sheen now and most, if not all of the dust comes off with my 1800 psi electric pressure washer and 30 degree nozzle.

I feel you on bending and stooping, my knees just won't let me do it for as long as it takes, but with the pressure washer, it's not near as bad.
