From my research and my own experience, most of the shops capable of doing the track alignment will charge you more. $300 is a bit too much, but I personally paid $200 for it, while the same shop performed an alignment on my buddy's Mazda6 for half of that amount, which is standard around here.
Supposedly, there is something that needs to be done if you want to get the front camber past -1.5. Even the shop I used thought they couldn't do it until they remembered that supposedly some older Chevy's also use the same procedure to get more negative camber.

Again, from the forum, it looks like you are actually fine with using the Performance Supplement's track alignment specs on the street. I will probably check my SS 1LE's tires soonish to get an idea.
The stock alignment is assuming if you are driving like a grandma. I think some people here spiritedly DD their car with track specs without issues.
