Id be surprised if this is a bearing issue. If I had to guess I'd say the idler pulley is loosening up enough to move inside the bracket causing the belt to loosen...
Either way I'd suggest keeping an eye on and maybe marking the position of the idler pulley on the bracket, may also give gates hd green belt a try
