Your 60 year old woman point is irrelevant. She's not in the possible buyer pool so her ignorance doesn't matter. Personally, I never see a Mustang commercial - so, their sales should be dismal as well. I have to imagine a lot of people cross shop the pony cars (not everyone is fanatically brand loyal), and I suspect there are a good number of people that sit in the camaro and find the visibility to be absurd (utterly unable to see over your right shoulder) and decide to go with a mustang or a challenger for that reason alone.
I can only speak for myself of course, but I drove both a new ‘18 Mustang GT A10 before driving my car and buying it. I didn’t notice any marked difference in visibility at all. When you drive these cars I feel like you’re much more focused on the experience: power, handling, style, creature comforts, etc. The visibility discussion is being blown out of proportion IMO.

What is out of sight is out of mind, so GM abandoning the Camaro in terms of marketing is definitely hurting them. Case in point: one of the girls at my work had to ask me what my Camaro was when she saw it. She knew my coworkers Mustang immediately.
