There's also what might be called a "certain way to drive" in these modes. I don't recall where I read this, but I think it was an engineer that talked about when and how to apply power for these modes. It almost didn't seem, what I'd call logical (though - I wouldn't say what I call logical has any base in reality), so it was interesting to see the logic that was used for these modes to dole-out the power. If I can find it, I'll post.
