Anyway price is usually a good indicator of comfort esp and options (i.e. built-in vent, water, mic, etc.). All of the basic Snell SA2020 helmets have provisions for a Head/Neck restraint device should you choose to use one in the future. You will need a full face for HPDE as autocross is usually less strict but you will want just one helmet. So go with what is required for HPDE.

I've never run with a group that required a full face helmet. NASA, SCCA, Chin, JustTrackIt, PDG, all allow open face.
The only time I have ever seen a requirement for full face is karting.
