I don't believe there are good pumps and bad pumps. I think it's a marginal design at best, one that will have far more than the usual number of failures, but that failures will still be limited to a fairly small percentage of cars. If 5% fail, that's still way more than average as far as oil pumps go.
Franky, I can't see how my pump has held up as long as it has. My '16 LT1 has a weaker crank and I'm a good bit above stock ZL1 power levels.
