Another cliché street tires on a ZLE thread

I have other wheels for track use so I decided to put a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires on the factory wheels. Wow! What an amazing difference! I have (up to this point) only driven on the Goodyear Supercar 3R factory tires which aren't known for their street manners.

As for what is so much better...cold performance when the tires aren't up to temp is soooo much better. The compliance of the sidewall is a huge + because the 3Rs will jar and rumble on every imperfection. Tramlining is absent and bridge junctions are not a problem. The harshness is gone. The car is completely driveable and enjoyable on the street. Some of you are saying "duh" but I didn't expect this much.

I opted for the Continentals because of their reputation and price. Michelin 4S was a possibility also. See below for a pic from Tire Rack.
