I use Rev Match and NLS, so I don't think I lose much time shifting. I do normally leave it in 2nd though.

On the course in the videos, we had that one crazy tight hairpin and I think it worked there. RT660 had tons of grip on exit, so I could really use all the torque in 1st, even in the wet on Sunday.

Last summer at Reno we had a course that was so tight it was 1st gear all the way. I won BS, PAX, and Fast Time that day, so that gave me an appreciation for 1st gear.

Anyways my preference is to leave it in 2nd, but I think one downshift/upshift per lap can work.

PS I started the run in the 2nd video in 2nd gear. It was raining a little and I was having issues navigating the first part of the track in 1st gear. I had spun on a previous run so I was just trying to lay down a smooth conservative lap and it turned out to be my fastest.
