The nice thing about those Falkens is that they test well in wet weather, which is important for tires you plan to drive on the street. As long as you don't drive the car in temps much below freezing, you should be good. The 9" wheels are actually within the rim width recommendations for that tire. They are the narrowest they recommend, but you should be good to go there, too. You could have done a 255/35/20 as well, they'd be slightly shorter. I'm glad you didn't try using a 255/40, because at 28" it would be taller than ideal.
