OEM Extended Warranties typically begin on the same date as the Factory Warranties. So if the Factory Warranties was for three years and the Extended Warranty was for six years, you would have an additional three years.
In addition to coverage for catastrophic items on a non-–modded car, an Extended Warranty can be helpful in selling a car to a private party.
Modifications such as ECU tunes can of course void either the Factory Warranty or an Extended Warranty.
