I used to think extended warranties were a rip-off until my wife and I bought a 2014 GMC Acadia SUV. We got talked into buying a six year, 60,000 mile extended B2B warranty. I can’t remember the exact cost, but it was somewhere shy of $2K.

Turns out the Acadia had three major repairs exceeding $1000 each after the original GM B2B warranty expired. All three were covered by the extended warranty and didn’t cost us a dime out-of-pocket. Changed my mind on extended warranties.
