I had a ZL1, switched to a ZLE, and see SS1LE’s on track all the time. Difference between ZL1 and SS1LE isn’t as much as you’d think on track, but depends on the track and the drivers. They have basically the same suspension, tires and aero. I learned a lot from giving point by’s to lower HP SS1LE’s on track. Also, the ZL1 overpowers the subframe bushings, so I’d plan on upgrading those if you go that route. Doesn’t seem to be as big an issue with SS1LE.
The SS1LE is such an amazing value. I’d get that, spend the difference on consumables and track time, then upgrade to ZLE later. SS1LE is also more competitive in S2 time trials than Zl1 is in S1, if you care about that.
