I tuned it out with my Diablo tuner....which no one seems to like here but it has worked well for me. The car performs much better without the AFM.
As a footnote, my Jeep GC 2012 5.7 Hemi has the AFM. The tune in that vehicle [also from the same Diablo] also my daily driver is phenomenal. In 2012 the transmissions were not locked out and a transmission tune was also included. Made my jeep feel like an SRT. However, with the AFM tuned out, it always threw a code so I had to leave it in.
My observation is the AFM in the jeep is seamlessly much better than in GM technology. I actually kind of like it and, in that model, you can deactivate it all together by pressing the "tow/haul" button.
Has anyone here noticed the difference in the AFM technology of GM compared to Chrysler or even Ford, for that matter?

I rented a Challenger with a Hemi in 2018 and I thought the AFM mode on it was terrible compared to my Camaro. Very jerky and intrusive.
