Appreciate the offers to look at the car. As stated the pictures looked absolutely immaculate. I talked to the dealer and Kevin I think his name is, was very cool and said it's literally a brand new car. Babied by the owner, perfect immaculate condition. I bought it after he sent me a video. My bank is closed this weekend for wire transfers so I'm gonna have to send the $ on Monday. Should be shipped out here soon after.
I am looking forward to getting back into a muscle car. I have a problem with cars. In the last 8 years this will be car #5. My journey started with a 2013 ZL1, then a 2009 ZR1, then a 2015 Z/28, then a 2016 GT4, and now back to a ZL1. Comparisons are inevitable. All were great cars in their own way. The ZL1 was a fast great all around car that served as both back road burner and daily driver. Very comfortable, great looking and fun. The ZR1 was amazing, period. Brutally fast and VERY smooth. Nothing I've driven has been as fast as that beast. The Z/28, if I had to pick, has been my favorite car I've ever owned so far. Just a special car, raw and basic, which I love. Excellent short throw shifter and intoxicating LS7 motor. Faster than people think and amazing in the corners. Also looks the business......just an awesome, awesome car. The GT4 was my first Porsche. Absolute scalpel. Not the fastest, but still a great motor and incredibly fun. It also has by far the sweetest, most perfect manual transmission I've ever driven. I thought the Z/28 was the best, until I drove the GT4. Absolute BUTTER! You just have to drive it to experience what I think is the most perfect mechanical feel for shifting a car. I just can't imagine anything better. Also the nicest car by far. Super nice interior. You just feel like you are in a very high end car. I had the carbon ceramic brakes and the light weight carbon bucket seats from the GT2/GT3 so it was a very, very nicely equipped GT4. I don't know if Porsches are worth the extra $ you pay for them, certainly for performance/price there is no touching American cars, but if you get a Porsche you will be getting an extremely well built and extremely reliable car.
Anyhow, that was a long road to a small house. I am very curious to see how the ZL1 1LE stacks up to all the cars I've owned over the last 8 years. It's gonna be fun. I'll post my personal thoughts on how it compares after I've owned it for a while.
