OP is in Tampa, where it doesn't often get to 40F. Summer tires work fine here. Just need good wet grip for the inevitable 2 in/hr downpours in the wet season.

I have driven my SS 1LE in heavy rain before, and as long as I was sensible with my speed and don't hit a giant puddle, I didn't have trouble with them. If I didn't feel confident, there is the Snow/Ice driving mode that can help a bit.
Then again, I don't have a supercharger on top of my engine, so that might have made the difference. I think the stocker + Snow/Ice mode in the rain would have been fine, as Snow/Ice mode numbs down the throttle input.
If you never track then PS4S is fine as long as you are cool with the price. I just can't give up that combo of track grip and value on mine.
