The QA on these cars, combined with the "bare minimum" standards of paint, leaves a lot to be desired. My 2015 Sliverado had some minor paint 'quirks' at delivery, my 2016 Traverse had defects in the paint that looked like thumb prints under the clear coat (amont a ton of other issues that GM finally acknowledged and ended up extending the B2B warranty significantly, and good thing too because the transmission crapped out at 55k after having issues from day 1 that the dealer claimed they couldn't reproduce).

I hear ya! The owner of my company had ordered a new 2500 Denali that came in a few months back. There is one very noticeable paint defect in the rear quarter panel, about the size of a finger print. I told him as much as it hurts to have that on a new truck, I think I would leave it be. You typically don't want to break into factory paint (even if it is mediocre) then throw in the risk of having poor work done. It is still hard to swallow considering you just spent ~$73K!
