I ordered my 2021 ZL1 on December 21st just how I wanted: A10, shadow gray metallic, exposed carbon fiber hood insert, Nav., and CF shift knob cover (most on the lots in my region have sunroofs and I did not want a sunroof). The dealer technically placed the order on Dec. 22nd. It was built the end of the first week of Feb. in Lansing, MI (where all Camaros are built) and is now sitting in a rail yard in Toledo, OH awaiting a cross country train ride to Salt Lake City, then from there a day or two on a truck to Boise.

So, right now it's 8+ weeks and counting. Dealer originally quoted me 8-12 weeks, so I'm still within that quoted timeframe. Hopefully it doesn't sit in Toledo very long. I know there's a lot of cars that pass through those rail yards.

That said, I admit it's been tough to wait, but the anticipation is building and I know I'll appreciate having a ZL1 more than if I had just bought the first one I test drove back in December. The weird thing is I love my 2018 Mustang GT Premium (w/ PP1, MagneRide, A10, Safe and smart package+bolt ons), but it's sitting in my garage reminding me that I don't yet have the ZL1 (since I'll be selling the Mustang). It's kind of a strange feeling to really, really like the car, but start to feel disconnected from it knowing the days are numbered. I've never leased a car so that isn't a feeling I'm used to.
