Where is all the needed infrastructure money needed coming from? The power plants? The .gov, or us? With the incompetence, corruption & wastefulness of government officials it would be an unmitigated disaster.
Should electricity cost be quadruple or more to fund this solution looking for a problem when gasoline is around $2/ gal right now?

Exactly, the money has to come from taxpayers. We will be paying to string new electric wire all over this country via Government crony contracts. The Government is extremely wasteful with taxpayer money, we already pay premium rates for substandard service. Hell, E85 is already up 10% a gallon here in Illinois and only going to go up with the recent Washington change. Yeah we won’t have any gas or oil costs but you will pay more in Fed taxes, State taxes, Sales taxes, $20k more for a ZL1 EV. I say bring the EV’s, just let the market and demand control it all. No tax write offs, limited Fed Gov $’s and just let those that want them to cover a majority of the costs.
