If the smell dissipates as quickly as it appears and is infrequent, it could be nothing more than being just the smell of coolant being drawn into the cabin, possibly after being vented out of the overflow tank if the system needs to move coolant to that tank when hot. I've gotten a coolant smell inside the cabin of many vehicles I've owned at some point in time and have never had an actual leak.
